ZMZ - Center for Migration Law and Research Zurich

Research

Research Focus

Research at the ZMZ focuses on matters relating to migration law (aliens and integration law, freedom of movement law, Schengen and Dublin law, refugee and asylum law, and nationality law). Particular focus areas include:

  • labor migration, demographic development, and economics;
  • migration management;
  • migration law issues related to digitalization; and
  • comparative migration law

Research at the ZMZ is practice-oriented and application-oriented. The underlying goal is to provide a scientific basis for political and legal decision-making and to devise specific courses of action once those needs have been identified. Depending on the issues involved, the ZMZ also utilizes interdisciplinary or multi-perspective approaches.
